Beno Udrih started playing basketball since 1997. He started playing basketball in NBA after being selected by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2004 NBA draft. Before joining the NBA, he also played for different teams including Hopsi Polzela, Union Olimpija, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Avtodor Saratov, and Olimpia Milano.

In 2004, Beno Udrih signed a three-year contract with the Spurs worth $2.4 million and served as a backup for starting point guard Tony Parker. With the team Spurs, he won his first 2005 NBA playoffs championship. On 27 October 2007, he was traded to Sacramento Kings but he was immediately released from the team. Later, he was again signed by the Kings as a fill-in for starting point guard Mike Bibby.

Later on 1 July 2008, Udrih signed a five-year contract with the Kings but he was traded to Milwaukee Bucks on 23 June 2011. On 21 February 2013, he was traded to Orlando Magic but left the team in the same year. On 8 August 2013, he signed a one-year contract worth $1.27 million with New York Knicks and he was released from the team on 24 February 2014. Then he started playing for Memphis Grizzlies and re-signed a multi-year contract with the Grizzlies on 15 July 2014.

On 10 November 2015, Beno Udrih was traded to Miami Heat where he missed several matches due to the torn plantar plate in his right foot. Then he was released from the team on 22 October 2016 and joined Detroit Piston. Since then he has been playing for team Pistons.
