Britney Spears shocks fans with her abortion story during Justin Timberlake romance

Britney Spears is opening up about her abortion story in her new bombshell memoir.

The pop star reveals that she had an abortion during her relationship with Justin Timberlake, revealing the pregnancy was a surprise but not a tragedy.

Spears said in her book, which will hit bookstores on October 24, as per excerpt published by People,

“I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated,”
“But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young,”

The One More Time hitmaker added,

“I’m sure people will hate me for this, but I agreed not to have the baby. I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.”

The couple ultimately terminated the pregnancy when Spears was only 18 or 19 years old.

She explains that the procedure was “one of the most agonizing things” she has ever experienced.

Leading up to the book’s release, the Mirrors singer was reportedly concerned about what Spears was going to share from their past relationship.

One insider said on Monday, “It’s eating at him.”

Why did Britney and Timberlake split?

The former Mouseketeers started their romance in 1999 when they both were teenagers.

After they split in 2002, Justin told on Barbara Walters’s show that Britney had cheated on him. However, Britney neither confirmed nor denied the news at the time.

Justin publicly showed his support for the Everytime songstress after she spoke about her 13-year-old conservatorship for the first time in open court.

The SexyBack singer tweeted at the time,

“Regardless of our past, good and bad, and no matter how long ago it was… what’s happening to her is just not right,”

He further pleaded with Britney’s estranged family to “make this right and let her live however she wants to live.”

The pop princess did not respond to her ex’s kind words. However, she has since shared throwback pics of them together as well as videos of herself dancing to his music.

The Gimme More hitmaker who shares sons Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden James, 17, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, recently split from her ex-husband Sam Asghari.
