Heartfelt Tribute! Celine Dion recently honored her late husband, Rene Angelil, on what would have been their 30th wedding anniversary.

On December 17, 2024, she shared a throwback black and white picture of the two from their wedding day, marking three decades since their lavish wedding in Montreal in 1994.

In a photo from their wedding, Celine Dion, now 56 years old, is depicted wearing a beautiful, jeweled headpiece attached to her long veil.

She gazes deeply into her late husband’s eyes while gently holding his face.

Similarly, Dion shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, expressing her enduring love and remembrance for Angelil, who passed away after a battle with throat cancer.

Rene died on January 14, 2016, two days before what would have been his 74th birthday.

In her post, she wrote,

“You still fill our hearts, every day. You are everything for us. We miss you so much. Happy 30th anniversary, mon amour!”

The touching message was signed by the singer and the couple’s three sons, Rene-Charles, 23, and twins Nelson and Eddy, 14.

The anniversary post received supportive messages from Dion’s colleagues in the music industry.

Tommy Mottola, her former boss and ex-CEO of Sony Music Entertainment, expressed his admiration by saying,

“Rene.. was one of the greatest men that I have ever known!! he was your guiding light,”

Similarly, singer Debbie Gibson sent her love with a simple message,

“sending love.”

Celebrating the enduring love of Celine Fino and Rene Angelil’s Relationship

Celine Dino first met Rene Angelil when she was 12 years old and auditioned for him, which led him to become her manager.

He even mortgaged his house to finance her first record.  They worked together for seven years before starting a romantic relationship in 1987 when Dion was 19.

Initially, she kept their relationship private due to concerns about public opinion, but in 1994, she expressed her desire to share their love, stating,

“I was afraid of what people would think, When you’re in love, you want to scream it to the world.”

They publicly acknowledged their relationship after being engaged for a couple of years. Dion wrote in her memoir,

“When I was at the age to be able to say to people [we were together] … It was like bang! Love! Love always wins,”

Their relationship evolved over the years, eventually leading to their marriage when Dion was 26.

On December 17, 1994, they married at a lavish ceremony in Montreal’s Notre Dame Basilica that was broadcast live on Canadian television.

Despite facing challenges such as Angelil’s throat cancer diagnosis in 1998 and subsequent fertility struggles, their bond remained strong throughout their life together.

He was declared cancer-free in 2000, and they celebrated with a vow renewal in Las Vegas that same year.

Unfortunately, Angelil’s cancer returned in 2014, two years before he died in 2016.

Dion continues to keep Angelil’s memory alive in her daily life.

She has photos of him throughout her home and takes them with her while traveling for medical treatments related to her own health issues.

In June 2021, she reaffirmed her enduring love by stating,

“I’m still married to René. He’s still my husband, He will always be.”
