Happy Married life! Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert took a milestone step in their relationship.

The couple tied the knot on Saturday, August 26, after almost eight years of dating and over a year of engagement. They exchanged vows at Santa Lucia Preserve in Monterey County, California in front of 106 guests.

Their wedding was planned by Troy Williams of Simply Troy Lifestyle + Weddings and their beautiful moments were captured by Amy and Stuart Photography.

The So You Think You Can Dance alum, 25, gushed about her wedding with the PEOPLE,

“We’re in a redwood forest, but we got married right in front of this mother tree that’s surrounded by all these smaller trees, They drop all the seeds, and it plants kind of like an army of children to protect the mother. The symbolism of it was beautiful. We’re here, planting our seeds to grow our family.”

They had a three-day extravaganza wedding which kicked off on Thursday with a welcome party at a beautiful cliffside estate in Carmel.

They held a garden rehearsal dinner with the family on the following day where each of the family members delivered speeches for the newlywed couple.

The Dancing with the Stars, 38, has described the ceremony as “a big love fest.” Their wedding was officiated by Hough’s brother-in-law, Michael Poole, as they both exchanged personal and traditional vows.

Guests including Julianne Hough, Jenna Johnson, Freida Pinto, Amy Purdy, Maria Menounos, Shawn Johnson, Nina Dobrev, and more attended the ceremony to celebrate the pair’s big day.

The couple had their first dance on Forrest Blakk’s Fall Into Me.

Hayley looked stunning in a custom duchess satin off-the-shoulder sleeves gown from Georgina Chapman of Marchesa. She paired the gown with a long Marchesa veil for the ceremony.

She said of her wedding gown with PEOPLE,

“I tired on so many different styles, silhouettes, and fabrics, and I went to Marchesa with my vision of mu dream dress, Georgina and the team were so lovely to work with and made my vision come to life.”

As for makeup, she kept it clean, simple, and minimalist. She said,

“I wanted a natural beauty look, but enhanced,”

Similarly, she did her hair into a low, slicked-back bun styled by hairstylist Jill Buck. The new bride wore jewelry by Ring Concierge.

Hough, on the other hand, looked dapper in a classic black suit by Tom Ford. While at the reception, he donned a suit from Brooks Brothers.
