Don Lemon started working when he was in college, he served as a news assistant on Channel 5 in New York City.

After graduation, he started to work as a professional anchor for WBRC in Birmingham, Alabama, and WCAU in Philadelphia.

Then Don Lemon started working as an anchor and investigative reporter for KTVI St. Louis. He also worked as an anchor for WBRC Birmingham, Alabama.

After onwards he started working for NBC News as a correspondent for Today and anchored on Weekend Today and MSNBC.  After gaining all the knowledge and being skilled, he was hired at CNN in September 2006.

Besides his television personality, Don Lemon is also an author who has recently published a book about his life.

His book was titled Transparent which includes a discussion of his hard time in childhood.
