Drew Barrymore explains the cons of raising her kids in the limelight

Drew Barrymore is a doting mom who deeply cares for her children.

Being a celebrity mom is complicated when her children “didn’t sign up for” choosing their parents.

Barrymore, 47, recently sat down for a chat with Playboy legend Pamela Anderson on her chat show, The Drew Barrymore Show where they discussed how hard motherhood is.

Barrymore even gave the paparazzi a warning.

The mother of two said,

“Don’t f–k with my kids. This is not OK,”

The Charlie’s Angel star also showed her disapproval of the new social media layer of parenting one’s kids.

Then, she quickly asked the Baywatch alum how she raised her two wonderful sons Brandon and Dylan.

Anderson spoke some words of encouragement to the crying host and said,

“You’re gonna get through this. You’ve got it.”

The Raw Justice actress, 55, then asked Barrymore to be careful with social media and “make sure that [her daughters] know how to make themselves safe from [a] very young age.”

The Playmate also recalled an incident where she hired somebody to be an assistant P.E. teacher so that her sons would be safe at school.

Pamela explained,

“People wanted to take them off the school yard.”
”I had to find clever ways to make them feel everything was normal [even though] I needed to know eyes were on them. I was not gonna take that chance.”

Drew and Will are happy exes and are co-parenting their daughters

Anderson shares her two sons with one of her five ex-husbands, Tommy Lee, whom she married in 1995. The pair got divorced in 1998.

Barrymore, on the other hand, welcomed her two babies with her former husband Will Kopelman before their divorce in 2016.

The two women also chatted about getting over the men they share their kids with.

The Barb Wire actress asked,

“That’s hard, isn’t it?”
“It’s just that connection you don’t have with anybody else.”

Pamela revealed that after five failed marriages, she is happy being a single mother. Meanwhile, Drew, the Golden Globe winner said that she is dating someone.

Her ex is now happily married to Vogue’s director of fashion development, Alexandra Michler, who is now pregnant with their first child together.

The art consultant married Michler at Sankaty Head Beach Club in 2021, five years after finalizing his divorce from Barrymore.

Both his girls, Olive, 8, and Frankie, 7, whom he shares with Barrymore attended the wedding as flower girls.

The couple announced their engagement just weeks after they started dating.

As for Drew and Will, the exes remain friendly and are co-parenting their two girls.
