This sportsman was born on June 22, 1984, in Columbia, America with the birth name Dustin Hunter Johnson. His ethnicity is Caucasian.

He was born to father Scott Johnson, former club pro, and mother Kandee Jonson. He has a brother Austin and a sister, Laurie.

Johnson did a major in sports management from Coastal Carolina University where he won the Monroe Invitational and the Northeast Amateur in 2007. Dustin is the first player after Tiger Wood to claim a title in the first seven seasons.

Early Career

This player engaged in his lifelong passion for playing golf since college. In 2007, he went pro and earned his place in the 2008 PGA Tour. Dustin won the Turning Stone Resort Championship at the end of his first season. Four months later, this golfer won his second event at the AT&T PebbleBeach National Pro-Am.

In the 2009 season, he was ranked 15th on the PGA Tour money list.


In 2010, he eventually won the BMW Championship, which was a FedEx playoff event. The same year, Johnson finished ranked 4th on the PGA Tour money list.

In 2011, he took part in Long Drive Contest for charity at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions. The same year, Johnson entered the final round of the WGC- Cadillac Championship finishing as runner up behind Nick Watney. At the 2011 Open Championship in England, he earned his then-best finish in a Major Championship.

At a major championship, Johnson had been part of the final group and moved to his highest spot in the Official World Golf Ranking at the time.

In 2011, he won his fifth PGA Tour title at The Barclays which moved him from 19th to first in the FedEx Cup standings.  The win also took him to a career-high of 4th in the world rankings, the second-highest American.

Professional Life

In 2012, Dustin Johnson incurred a back injury at home and missed over two months of the 2012 season. Later, he returned to competition at the Memorial Tournament in Ohio and finished tied for the 19th, and won his sixth tour event.

In 2015, he returned to the tour at the ‘Farmer’s Insurance Open’ and led Johnson back inside the top-15 in the World Ranking.

After he missed another cut at The Honda Classic, he beat J. B. Holmes by one stroke to win the WGC-Cadillac Championship at Trump National Doral and his win earned him $1,570,000 and marked the first win for Johnson moving him to 7th in the world rankings.

Johnson confirmed that he would not be participating in the 2016 Summer Olympics. In September 2016 he won his third tournament of the year, the BMW Championship. In 2017, Dustin won more than three Tour titles in the same season of the first FedEx Cup playoff event, The Northern Trust. 

He also moved up three spots to No. 1 on the official money list and moved up to No. 6 on the career money list. Johnson won the Sentry Tournament of Champions in 2018 becoming only the third player in the last 30 years to reach 17 PGA Tour wins before the age of 34.


Dustin won the RBC Canadian Open by three strokes after starting the final round in a four-way tie for the lead. This sportsman won his sixth European Tour title, winning the inaugural Saudi International on the European Tour in 2019. He played on the US team at the Presidents Cup at Royal Melbourne Golf Club in December 2019.

This golfer would not be competing in the 2020 summer Olympics due to his schedule.
