Jason Mohammad is a Welsh radio and television presenter who has hosted numerous programs centered on sports including rugby and snooker.

He has been working for the BBC since 1997 and currently hosts the late morning show on BBC Radio Wales, from 9 AM each weekday.

Jason was born in Cardiff, the United Kingdom on November 20, 1975, to a Pakistani father Afzal, and a Welsh mother Ely. He is a practicing Muslim.

Jason Mohammad attended Glyn Derw High School and was later enrolled at Swansea University to study Welsh and Politics. He attended Cardiff University for a postgraduate diploma in broadcast journalism.

Jason Mohammad joined the BBC in 1997 as a reporter for BBC Wales Today before becoming the anchor of Wales on Saturday.

He then became the host of Final Score on BBC One in 2013.  He is also the presenter of Scrum V on BBC 2 Wales and to the delight of viewers, the secondary snooker presenter for the BBC.

Jason Mohammad was part of the BBC’s broadcasting crew at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics and is an occasional presenter of Match of the Day.

He has presented coverage of the Melbourne Commonwealth Games, the Ryder Cup, and numerous FA Cup finals, and he also presented the career-defining fight between Joe Calzaghe and Bernard Hopkins in Las Vegas, for BBC Wales and the main BBC network.

Jason Mohammad was trackside interviewing many of the world’s biggest names in athletics during the London 2012 Olympic Games and is also part of the regular BBC One presenting line-up for the Rugby Six Nations.

On Radio Wales Jason built up a regular following as the host of the Extra Time Phone-In, going on to be one of the captains in the early series of the spin-off sports entertainment quiz Extra Time, along with Owen Money. He has also guest-starred in ‘Doctor Who
