RIP Keenan Cahill! Popular YouTube Lip-Syncer untimely death at 27

Keenan Cahill, a YouTuber who became popular in 2010 for lip-syncing to pop hits, is no longer alive among us.
His death was confirmed on Friday, December 30, by his family members with a heartbreaking statement via his official Facebook page. The statement reads,
“Keenan is an inspiration and let’s celebrate by remembering all the content he created, artists he collaborated with, music he produced and the love he had for everyone who supported him over the years,”
Keenan was just 27. He died at a Chicago hospital Thursday afternoon on December 29, following complications from open heart surgery, according to his manager David Graham.
Similarly, his family members have set up a GoFundMe account to assist with funeral expenses. Previously, the fundraiser was started to help pay for Cahill’s medical expenses.
His family said on GoFundMe,
“Complications arose that he couldn’t overcome,”
“He never made a lot of money, but he enjoyed what he was doing and brought smiles to the faces of so many people,”

Cahill underwent the surgery on December 15 and was placed on life support as a result of complications. In early December, he informed his fans of the surgery through social media posts.
He wrote on his Instagram,
“One week till open heart surgery. Wish me luck. Love y’all.”

A YouTuber had been suffering from the genetic disorder Maroteaux-Lamy Syndrome since the age of one.
According to the National Organization for Rare Disorders, Maroteaux-Lamy Syndrome is defined by “complete or partial lack of activity of the enzyme arylsulfatase B.” (NORD). Similarly, Heart abnormalities are common in children with the syndrome.
He received a bone marrow transplant in 1997, as well as several other surgeries over the years, to help treat the genetic disease.

Celebrities are mourning the loss of beloved Keenan Cahill
Pauly D, a television personality and DJ who collaborated with Cahill on a cover of his song “Beat Dat Beat,” took to Twitter on Friday to express his condolences.
He tweeted alongside a photo of the two at an event.
“Rip Keenan, Thank You for always making the world smile.”
Perez Hilton reshared a video the two had made years before to Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger.”
Similarly, Ellohime, a popular Twitch user with whom Cahill regularly played the video game “RimWorld” on the platform, paid tribute to Cahill as a “Viking forever,” from one viral star to another.
His manager said in an email to CNN, referring to him as a “legend”.
Adding to that he said,
“Keenan inspired millions worldwide by being his true self despite his short stature, disease, and age of 15-16,”
What was Keenan Cahill best known for?
Keenan rose to fame as one of the first viral sensations of the decade 2010. He was best known for his lip-syncing videos, which he started recording while still a teenager in his bedroom from his desk.
He uploaded his debut lip-sync video to Katy Perry‘s “Teenage Dream” in August 2010, and it has received 58 million views. Similarly, his most watched video includes collaborating with 50 Cent, where they lip-synced “Down on Me,” with a total of 60 million views.
Additionally, he worked with musicians including Andy Grammer, Jason Derulo, David Guetta, LMFAO, Lil Jon, Sean Kingston, and Pauly D.
Cahill has roughly 721,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel so far.
