Marshawn Lynch was born as Marshawn Terrell Lynch on the 22nd of April 1986 in Oakland, California. His father, Maurice Sapp, and mother, Delisa Lynch are of All-American ethnicity.

He is the youngest among his three siblings, Davonte, David, and Marreesha. Their mother raised them as single mothers.

He graduated from Oakland Technical High School in his hometown, Later, he joined the University of California, Berkeley to study social welfare.

During High Schooldays, he used to play Football for the High School team. At the time, he was active in games like Basketball, Track, and wrestling too.

Later, Marshawn Lynch represented his college team, California Golden Bears football as a running back. Starting from 2004 till 2006, he played 35 games for the team with 3,230 rushing yards with a total of 35 takedowns.

Buffalo Bills

In 2007, Marshawn Lynch signed a six years contract with Buffalo Bills worth $18.935 million contracts including a $3 million signing bonus.

As a professional player, in his first match, he played against Denver Broncos as a running back. He ended the game with 90 yards on 19 carries with his first touchdown.

Despite the six-year contract, Marshawn Lynch played four seasons for the team till the season of 2010. However, he didn’t complete the season with the team. Later, the team traded him to Seattle Seahawks.

In 2012, Marshawn Lynch signed a four-year contract with the team worth $31 million. He ended the season with 1,590 yards of rushing and 11 touchdowns including his longest-yard touchdown. By the end of the year, he was ranked at the position on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2013.

In the following year, he ended the season with 1,257 yards with 12 touchdowns. At the end of the year, he has ranked the position of 14 on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2014. 

Moving forward, in 2015, he signed a 2-year contract extension worth $24 million. The year, he was ranked at 9th position on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2015. 

On the 7th of February 2016, through his Twitter account, he announced that he is taking retirement from Football.

Oakland Raiders

After taking an initial retirement, he returned to football as a player for Oakland Raiders. In 2017, he signed a two-year contract worth $9 million including a $2 million bonus for 1,000 rushing yards in the season.

Till 2018, Marshawn Lynch was associated with the team as a player. Moving forward, in 2019, he rejoined the Seattle Seahawks. In the 2019 season, he was ranked at the fourth position on the all-time postseason rushing touchdowns list.
