Michelle Williams announces the birth of her 2nd child with Thomas Kail

Congratulations to Michelle Williams who is a mom for the second time with her husband Thomas Kail‘s child.

But the actress is also a mother to her 17-year-old daughter Matilda, whom she shares with her late partner Heath Ledger.

On Saturday, pictures of the new mum holding an infant on a family walk became viral. The doting mother looked incredibly happy and relaxed as she strapped the newborn to her chest in a white onesie.

Williams and Hart previously welcomed their son Hart, who is now 2 years old, in June 2020.

The Dawson Creek‘s star, 42, waited until May to share her son’s name.

Williams first debuted her baby bump at the Cannes Film Festival also talked about the birth of her baby boy to Variety and called his arrival a ”reminder that life goes on” amid the coronavirus pandemic.

At the time, she told the magazine:

“The world we brought a baby into is not the world we thought we were bringing a baby into, but the baby is ignorant of that,”
“He experiences the unmitigated joy of discovery and the happiness of a loving home.”

Williams loves the idea of being a parent

In that same interview, she revealed that her son would be a big brother soon.

The Golden Globe winner gushed about her pregnancy saying:

“It’s totally joyous,”
“As the years go on, you sort of wonder what they might hold for you or not hold for you.”

She continued:

“It’s exciting to discover that something you want again and again, is available one more time. That good fortune is not lost on me or my family.”

The Blue Valentine star also called parenthood an act of creativity.

The mom-of-three talked about the blessing of parenthood and said:

“There’s nothing that makes you committed to a better world than raising a great kid,

“The most ecstatic moments of life and art are the transcendent ones. Having children is like that. You combine your DNA with someone else to create a new life.”

Williams and Kail, a Broadway director, first met while working together on Fosse/Verdon in 2018 and got engaged the next year.

They tied the knot in 2020 surrounded by family and close friends.

Michelle was almost previously married to musician Phil Elverum from 2018 to 2019.

Kail, on the other hand, broke up with Angela Christian in 2019 after more than a decade of happy marriage.
