Mike Goodnough, Valerie Bertinelli’s boyfriend gets the approval of Batman, one of Valerie’s cats!

American actress and cookbook author Valerie Bertinelli, 64 is in love again. Her boyfriend, Mike Goodnough had her approval and now, he also got the approval of one of her cats. He revealed this on his Instagram on 26 April 2024.

Mike Goodnough gets approval of his girlfriend’s cat

Mike Goodnough is the boyfriend of Valerie Bertinelli. She is an American actress and TV personality. Of course, Valerie has approved of Mike as her boyfriend. And now, Mike revealed on his Instagram on 26 April 2024 that he also has the approval of one of Valerie’s cats. He added that slowly but surely, he would also seek and get the approval of her other five cats.

Mike, who is a writer and a lifestyle blogger, put up a photo on his social media of him with one of Valerie’s cats, Batman. Both were in a relaxed position on a bed and the feline was in his arms. Mike captioned the post in a lengthy manner:

“‘To inhabit a land, one must quiet its dogs. To be its king, one must befriend its cats.’ — either Confucius or something I just made up. I am now in league with Batman,”

Further, he wrote:

“A ‘Man of the Cats’ will appear unexpectedly and bring peace to the restive village. I’m a Leo. We do stuff like that,”

Mike also said that Valerie has five more cats and they are Nelson, Beau, Henry, Bubba, and Tigger. He would also bring them onboard and his prophecy would come true.

The relationship timeline of the couple

It was in March 2024 that Valerie for the first time talked about her new love. She told People magazine:

“I’m in love. It’s a seesaw of emotions because I was adamant I was never falling in love again.”

Later, on 20 April 2024, the TV personality went public about her new romance. She uploaded a pic of herself with her new boyfriend, Mike Goodnough and wrote below it:

Valerie’s relationships and marriages

Valeria was first dating Paul Shaffer when she was 16 and he was 27. Paul has written in his autobiography that these were just fun dates. Later, Valerie went on to marry rock musician Eddie Van Halen in 1981. Their son, Wolfgang was born on 16 March 1991.

However, Eddie and Valerie separated in the year 2001. The divorce was complete on 20 December 2007. Valerie has stated the reasons for the divorce in her autobiography. She said that Eddie was addicted to cocaine and despite having a diagnosis of oral cancer, he did not cease smoking.

Eddie was operated for oral cancer and had lost one-third of his tongue in it. However, the two split amicably and she was beside him when he died.

Later, she began dating financial planner, Tom Vitale in 2004. In May 2010, the couple engaged. And on 1 January 2011, they exchanged wedding vows in Malibu in California. Tom was father of four kids during this marriage.

However, this second marriage also collapsed and Valerie filed for divorce from Tom on 24 November 2021. It was finalized on 22 November 2022.
