The former couple met on the set of Dead Calm in 1988. The actor could not stop himself from acknowledging Watanabe’s beauty, he confessed his feelings for her and got a positive response. After dating for a while, they finally tied the knot.

This was the second marriage for both Noriko Watanabe and Sam Neill. The couple was married back in 1989 after they parted ways with their respective former partners.

They welcomed their first child, daughter Elena Neill together in 1991. Neill has a son Tim, and Noriko has a daughter Maiko Spencer from their previous marriage.

One of the magazines, Woman’s Day claimed the mystery woman with the actor is Byron Bay business owner Miranda Cummings.

Meanwhile, another magazine with the name of New Idea claimed she is an Australian actress Rachel Blake. Blake is married to her fellow Australian actor Tony Martin. Though these magazines revealed the name, no one really confirmed the claims.
