Padma Lakshmi held hands with blackish creator Kenya Barris while crossing a street in New York City on Sunday.
The former fashion model wore a cream-colored jacket, fitted black slacks, and a coral scarf with white go-go style boots for a mod look.
Padma has been single for the past couple of years after splitting from poet Terrance Hayes in November 2021.

Padma Lakshmi fuels Kenya Barris dating rumors

Padma Lakshmi and blackish creator Kenya Barris were snapped holding hands while crossing the road in NYC on Sunday.

The 53-year-old Top Chef host and the 49-year-old writer and producer made their way to McNally Jackson Bookstore in the SoHo neighborhood.

The pair chatted and at one point he looked at her cellphone.

For the chilly noon outing, the former model rocked a cream-colored jacket, fitted black slacks, and a coral scarf with white go-go style short boots.

Barris, for his part, opted for an orange puffy jacket, blue sweater, and green camo slacks that he paired with white sneakers.

Since her split from poet Terrance Hayes in November 2021, Padma has been enjoying her single life.

Kenya is also single again after calling it quits with his wife of 20 years, Dr. Rania ‘Rainbow Edwards-Barris for the third time in June 2022.

A source told People,

“They met through work. They are developing something together and are getting to know each other,”
“It’s very new,”

Lakshmi was previously married to author Salman Rushdie from 2004 to 2007. After that, she was also romantically linked to Adam Dell, with whom she shares daughter Krishna Thea, 13.

Barris, who is famous for creating shows like Mixed-ish and Grown-ish, shares six kids with his estranged wife.

Padma Lakshmi left Top Chef this year

In 2021, the fashion star told Andy Cohen that she was single during an interview on Watch What Happens Live. She cleared the air after being linked to Terrance.

In June, the Taste the Nation host made a big career move when she revealed that she was leaving Top Chef after 17 years as a host and judge. That same month, she told People magazine how difficult the situation had been for her.

She said at the time,

“The last challenging thing I did was say goodbye to Top Chef,”

“We all grew up on that show.”

Lakshmi noted that she had “such deep feelings” after leaving the series, before noting that it was “very bittersweet.”

She added,

“I feel it’s time to move on and make space for Taste the Nation, my books and other creative pursuits,”
