Sharon Leal was born on October 17, 1972, in Tucson, Arizona, U.S. She is a military brat. Sharon then moved with her parents to the Philippines, till she was 6 years old. She went to prayer School there. Then, her parents packed up to move back to the US and settled in Fresno, California.

Her mother Angelita is Filipino. Her father was an All-American military policeman and they broke up before Sharon even gets to be born.

After, she was adopted by Jesse Leal after her mother got married to him and he was Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force and he was a police officer of Clark Air Base in the Philippines.

Sharon graduated from “Roosevelt High School of the Arts” in Fresno. In 1993, she won a vocal scholarship at the “Santa Cruz Jazz festival”, which enabled her to study with Seth Riggs (Michael Jackson’s voice coach). She has also performed in various rap and R&B music videos.

In 2007, she was in the movies Why I get married and in this Christmas. She was Vanessa Lodge in the Hellcats series until the time it was canceled. Leal appears in the second season of Supergirl as Miss Martian.
