Rick Hoffman and his awful expression at Meghan Markle’s wedding

American actor, Rick Hoffman, 53 was with Meghan Markle, 42 in the popular TV drama of the USA, Suits. He played the role of Louis Litt while Meghan portrayed the character of Rachel Zane. Rick was an invitee at the 2018 wedding of Meghan with Prince Harry, 39. The other guests from her side included Gina Torres, Patrick J. Adams, Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty, Abigail Spencer, and Jacinda Barrett.

Rick had an awful expression on his face at the wedding and this had gone viral at that time. Recently, he gave an interview on Barstool Sports’ “Chicks in the Office” podcast. He presented the reason why he had such an awful face at the wedding.

Rick’s explanation

Rick said:

“If you type in my name in on Google, you see [me] making that awful face,”
“And then as time goes on, I’m starting to smell something really terrible and foul.”

Furthermore, Rick stated that he was aware that there were cameras everywhere at the St. George’s Chapel venue that were catching each and every guest’s movements and expressions. But he could not help. He tried to avoid the bad expression and keep a controlled one on his face. But he failed and his awful face at the wedding became the talk of the town.

The actor continued:

“How can I help getting away from this goofy face?”

He added that he is sensitive to perfumes and odors. Rick tried to avoid the smell by covering his nose with his hand. He then tried using a vanilla and coconut-scented moisturizer that he had. But these attempts could not hide the smell from him. Further, Rick stated:

“I’m starting to get a little jittery because it’s bothering me,”
“[The smell] is just constantly coming my way now. It’s getting into my body.”

Rick realised that people around him did not feel the smell. He added:

“So now, I’m, like, literally by myself alone on an island and I’m just going, ‘Motherf**ker.’ And that’s [the expression] they got [on camera].”

Meghan and Harry’s relationship

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry started dating in 2016. The Queen approved the match and the royal palace announced their engagement. The couple exchanged wedding vows in 2018. They started their royal duties.

However, they stepped down from their royal duties in 2020 and relocated to California in the USA. They lost their royal titles and acquired the roles of commoners there. They have two kids together: Archie and Lilibet.

In November 2023, Meghan in an interview spoke about this TV drama and this rekindled people’s interest in the show. She had told Variety magazine:

“It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew. We had a really fun time,”
