David Lynch is an American filmmaker, painter, musician, photographer, and actor.

He is one of the most successful and important directors of this generation and has given us movies and television series including ‘Blue Velvet’, ‘Mulholland Drive’, and ‘Twin Peaks’ among others.

David Lynch’s Early Life, Childhood, and Education

Lynch was born in Missoula, Montana on January 20, 1946, to parents Donald Walton Lynch and Edwina “Sunny” Lynch.

His father was a research scientist who worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and his mother was an English language tutor.

Throughout his childhood years, he lived in Sandpoint, Idaho, Spokane, Washington, Durham, North Carolina, Boise, Idaho, and Alexandria, Virginia.

Additionally, he was interested in painting and drawing from an early age. He is of American nationality.

Furthermore, he belongs to a mixed ethnic background of Scottish, Irish, English, Finnish, and German.

Talking about his education, Lynch attended Francis C. Hammond High School in Alexandria.
