Gwyneth Paltrow flashes a smile after the ski crash verdict
Gwyneth Paltrow has much to celebrate as she won her controversial ski crash trial. The court awarded her $1 million in damages.
The verdict came on Thursday afternoon, with the jury deciding in Paltrow’s favor, saying that it was not her fault that she collided with retired doctor Terry Sanderson in 2016 during a ski trip.
The 50-year-old Iron Man actress was all smiles after hearing the good news, while Sanderson, 76, looked grumpy about his defeat.
The actress then took to her Instagram Stories to express her gratitude after her victory, writing,
”I felt that acquiescing to a false claim compromised my integrity. I am pleased with the outcome and I appreciate all of the hard work of Judge Holmberg and the jury, and thank them for their thoughtfulness in handling this case.”
The incident took place in 2016 when the Oscar winner was at Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah, with her husband Brad Falchuk and his two kids and her own kids, Apple and Moses.
Three years later, the doctor accused the Shallow Hal actress of leaving him with a deadly brain injury and broken ribs. He further claimed that Paltrow simply “got up, turned, and skied away.”
Paltrow, on the other hand, denies all of these accusations.
Terry initially sought more than $3 million in reported damages. His lawyers later reduced the amount to $300,000.
Gwyneth then countersued Sanderson for a million in damages as well as her attorney’s fees. She also claimed that it was Sanderson who had caused the collision.
While fans fully supported the actress, she made headlines for her bizarre quotes throughout the trial.

Paltrow apologized for using bad language in the courtroom
Gwyneth received simultaneous praise and trolls for her explanation of what the crash cost her.
On day one of her testimony on March 24, Paltrow said, “Well, I lost half a day of skiing,”
Social media users also once called her out for telling Sanderson he skied into her “f—king back.”
At one point, the Sliding Doors actress said,
“I apologize for my bad language,”
“[That] is not my custom.”
The attorney asked if her countersuit for a symbolic $1 million was inspired by singer Taylor Swift. Swift countersued radio DJ David Mueller for the same amount in 2017.
Paltrow revealed her associations with the Grammy winner saying,
“I would not say we’re good friends. We are friendly,”
“I’ve taken my kids to one of her concerts before, but we don’t talk very often.”
Apart from her polarizing reflections, Gwyneth’s chic courtroom ensembles also became a hot topic.
Paltrow wowed fans with pieces from her band Goop’s own G.Label. Also, she wore goods from big designers like Celine, Prada, and Proenza Schouler.
