Johnny Depp, 59, is single again. The Pirates of the Caribbean star has reportedly broken up with his girlfriend Joelle Rich, a lawyer who represented him in his U.K. libel lawsuit against The Sun.

The split news comes just two months after a source confirmed to PEOPLE that the two were seeing each other. It’s unclear when the pair started dating, however, it had begun supposedly during the court battle with his ex-wife Amber Heard.

Rich shockingly attended the Virginia courtroom for Deep’s defamation trial against his ex-wife. Although she wasn’t representing, she attended the trial to show support for him at the time.

Also, photos surfaced of the two sharing glances and smiles with each other from inside the courtroom.

However, things between the pair were reportedly never that serious from the beginning. A friend of Deep told Dailymail,

“Are they still an item? We are not talking about a normal couple here. It’s not a big, stable, committed love affair and I’m not sure that it ever was.,”

He then explained,

“Firstly, he has just come out of a massive legal battle [with ex-wife Amber Heard], so who would want to commit after that? It has been an extremely traumatic period for him,”
“Secondly, he’s Johnny Depp and I don’t think a standard committed relationship is going to be his thing,”

Further, Deep and Rich have yet to comment on their relationship whether they hooked up or not, and if they dated then the reason behind their split.

Joelle’s divorce from her estranged husband Jonathan is still progressing

Joelle is currently separated and amid a divorce from her long-term husband Jonathan. In 2011, the two were married in a lavish Tuscany ceremony, however, their marriage didn’t last for long.

The romance between them sparked when they were at the University of Birmingham. Jonathan started his career by working in assurance at PwC as he studied for an Associate Chartered Accountant certificate.

He worked for four years at the same company and later transferred to the finance department. As of now, Jonathan is a director of Bluebox Corporate Finance Group.

Similarly, the now-estranger couple shares two children.
