Kathrine Herzer is an American actress who started her career as a child actor. Born on 17 January 1997, in Los Angeles, California, she started to work in the entertainment industry from the age of six.

Kathrine has worked with Hollywood’s A-listers, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in the movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith in the year 2005, Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet in the movie, A Lot Like Love in 2005 itself.

Balancing her dream role as Madam Secretary and the full-time school

Her latest show, Madam Secretary which was broadcasted on 21 September 2014, has been one of her big projects personally. She shares that her role as ‘Allison McCord’ in Madam Secretary has changed her life and it is something better than she could dream of.

She bagged the role while she was studying in her high school,

“I got the part when I was a junior in high school and I would commute back and forth to New York when we started filming. It’s the best group of people to work with and we have these amazing scripts that create this great energy.”

She was a full-time student at New York University while working on the series and she still is. But must say that she has balanced her school and work. Herzer said,

“There’s so much that I get from working and going to school at the same time.”

Kathrine reveals that her reel life role as Allison has taught her a lot in her real life,

“Allison is in such a crazy time in her life because she is going to college. She’s venturing into her own world, but the McCord family is so close that it just means that they are all branching out into this new area. I think this bit of independence will give her a lot of power, its an exciting season for her.”

Kathrine Herzer’s experience with great co-stars

She loves her work environment because of her co-workers. They are very good at their job as well as great people to hang out with. She has considered her on-screen parents, Téa Leoni and Tim Daly as her mentors.

She shares,

“Having Tim and Téa as my parents is a blessing. They’re just such beautiful people. They are great actors, and they do an amazing job on the show. They bring so much life to these characters, which is so fun to watch and see how they essentially work.”
