Kevin was educated at Lake Oswego High School in Lake Oswego, Oregon, USA. As a sophomore in Lake Oswego High, Kevin played the varsity for Head Coach Mark Sofas. He helped his Team Oswego achieve the State 4A Tournament for four years straight.

In addition, Kevin won the State Championships for three years consecutively. Thereafter in 2006, Oswego High won the State of Oregon Title.

Here at Lake Oswego High, Kevin’s dedication earned him the distinction of a top-ranking candidate for basketball.

Kevin Wesley Love: Professional life, Career

From 2007 through 2008 Kevin studied at UCLA- the University of California, Westwood in Los Angeles, USA, and played for a season.  He became the Oregon Player of the Year three times that season- a first in the State of Oregon.

Kevin broke the school freshman single-season records for points scored at 681, and 415 rebounds.  At UCLA, he became the finalist for the Naismith and Wooden Awards.

With consensus, his team became the All-American First team and won the Wooden Award All-America Team. Additionally, Kevin received the distinction of Pac-10 Player of the Year- the second freshman in Basketball League history to earn the honor.

At the 2007 Nike Hoop Summit in Portland, Oregon, Kevin played the USA Junior Select National Team and they defeated the World Select Team 100-80, another astonishing feather under his freshman cap.

Thereafter, Kevin received an honorable mention in the final selection for the League All-Defensive Team. He received the Conference Freshman of the Year honor award, the All-Conference First Team Honor Award, and the All-Freshman Team honor.

Consequently, at UCLA he made it to the NBA in the Season 2008 NBA Draft in Round 1, as the fifth overall pick, and was selected by the Memphis Grizzlies. In this way, Kevin started his illustrious career in basketball with the NBA Memphis Grizzlies League while still at UCLA. Among all NBA rookies for Season 2008-09, Kevin ranked an impressive record. He averaged a record-breaking feat for a newcomer.

Kevin Wesley Love completed his sixth season with the NBA in 2013-14 with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Later, he was with Cleveland Cavaliers.  And Kevin’s illustrious basketball career is still going strong.
