Actor Lance Reddick recently passed away on March 17, 2023, at the age of 60.
He is survived by his wife of over a decade, Stephanie Reddick.

Lance and Stephanie Reddick first met back in 1999. At the time, Stephanie was working at the Guthrie Theater in Minnesota whereas Lance was performing a play at the theater.

The couple eventually fell in love and since then, they were together until the day of Lance’s passing.

The wedding of Lance and Stephanie Reddick

Stephanie and Lance, who had been in a relationship for more than a decade, decided to tie the knot in June 2011. Despite Lance’s fame, they opted for a low-key wedding as it was their desire to have a regular ceremony.

After an unsuccessful search for a suitable venue, they settled on Café Lurcat in Minneapolis, Stephanie’s hometown. They changed the wedding date to allow guests ample time to prepare for the event.

Stephanie was delighted that her wish of keeping her wedding dress a secret from her husband was fulfilled. The wedding, though simple, was enjoyable for all, and Stephanie’s mother’s emotional reaction upon seeing her in her wedding dress was her favorite moment of the day.

Regarding the wedding, she said:

“I told (the florist) I didn’t care what the flowers were as long as they were pretty. She suggested peonies, because they were in season at the time. I didn’t even know what color the flowers were going to be until the day of the wedding, and they turned out just gorgeous.”

She insisted that her husband couldn’t see her dress before the big day and admitted:

“I found it online for $250, including shipping. Lance picked it up at the post office, and it fit perfectly. My favorite moment of the wedding day was when my mom saw me in my dress and she started crying.”

Lance was previously married

Although Stephanie’s romantic history is not widely publicized, we do have knowledge that her union with Lance Reddick is her initial marriage. Additionally, the two have not conceived any offspring during their time together.

Prior to his relationship with Stephanie, Lance was wed to a woman named Suzanne Yvonne Louis, who is also the mother of his two children.

Lance and Suzanne exchanged vows on September 7, 1986, and were married until they eventually divorced.

Suzanne was a licensed midwife, athlete, and jewelry designer until her sudden death on November 3, 2011, resulting from a heart attack.

Stephanie Reddick posted a tribute for her late husband and thanked everyone

Lance’s wife Stephanie Reddick posted from his Instagram account to thank all the well-wishers for the messages and tributes. She wrote in the post:

“Lance was taken from us far too soon. Thank you for all your overwhelming love, support and beautiful stories shared on these platforms over the last day. I see your messages and can’t begin to express how grateful I am to have them.”

For the past seven years, Lance has been providing the voice for Guardian Zavala in the video game series, Destiny. Fans of the popular game paid their tribute to him by silently sitting alongside him and offering salutes.

She also thanked those players:

“And to the thousands of Destiny players who played in special tribute to Lance, thank you. Lance loved you as much as he loved the game. Donations may be made to momcares.org in Baltimore, his hometown.”
