The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William, and Kate Middleton are currently on a week-long tour in celebration of Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.
The royal couple is traveling to Belize, Jamaica, and the Bahamas. This is the first official overseas visit of Will and Kate together to the Caribbean after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Back in 2012, the last senior royal to visit the Bahamas, Jamaica, and Belize was Prince Harry as part of a Diamond Jubilee Tour.
The Platinum Jubilee celebrates in honor of the Monarch’s 70 years on the throne.
Kensington Palace released a statement ahead of their trip that the royal couple is “very much looking forward to the visit”.
The statement reads,
“As with previous overseas visits, The Duke and Duchess have asked that this tour allows them to meet as many local people as possible.Over the course of their time in the Caribbean, Their Royal Highnesses will meet a wide variety of groups, including children, young people and families, frontline workers, service personnel, leaders from government, business and the charity sector as well as inspiring conservationists, and the early years workforce.”

The two were welcomed by the Governor-General of Belize, Froyla Tzalam, and her husband Daniel Mendez.
1st Day of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Caribbean trip
On Sunday (March 20), the Duke and Duchess visited a cacao farm in Belize. Kate wore a blue floral dress designed by Tory Burch whereas Will sported a matching formal shirt and pants. The Duchess is accessorized with bright blue earrings from the French brand Sézane.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had planned to visit a cocoa farm in the foothills of the Maya Mountains in Belize on their first day. However, they had to cancel after villagers started a protest about colonialism and the use of a football field by the royals for landing their helicopter.
Then they went to visit the family who runs Che’il Mayan Cacao Farm and Chocolate Factory in Maya Center Village. They learned to make chocolate and of course, the royal couple tried some. Kate also commented,
“I think our children will be very jealous.”
After that, the royal couple visited the beachside village of Hopkins where the locals showed off their dance moves. They also took the stage and danced. One of the local women told,
“They really know how to dance. They took the culture from me and I didn’t need to teach them. They’re so good at it. They were excellent,”
Similarly, the royal couple then joined the musician where they also tried a pair of wooden maracas.
