Jonah Hill is DONE making public appearances
Jonah Hill has made it crystal clear that he won’t be making any public appearances and movie promotions. He decided so to focus on his mental health.
He released an open letter where he announced he would no longer promote his own movies in the future to make his mental health better.
Hills has a number of projects lined up including a new documentary he himself directed titled Stutz, and Netflix’s comedy movie You People which he co-wrote with director Kenya Barris.
The Superbad actor also stars in the Netflix film opposite stars like Eddie Murphy, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Molly Gordon, and Mike Epps.
Talking about debuting his directorial documentary Stutz at the upcoming fall film festivals, the 38-year-old wrote:
“Through this journey of self-discovery within the film, I have come to the understanding that I have spent nearly 20 years experiencing anxiety attacks, which are exacerbated by media appearances and public facing events,”

Hills is no longer on social media
The movie also includes the director openly and candidly discussing his mental health issues with his therapist.
The War Dogs actor added:
“You won’t see me out there promoting this film, or any of my upcoming films, while I take this important step to protect myself. If I made myself sicker by going out there and promoting it, I wouldn’t be acting true to myself or to the film.”
Prioritizing his mental health, Hill has been largely out of the spotlight in 2022. He also recently deleted his Instagram account after discussing his nearly 20-year battle with anxiety attacks.
Jonah made a conscious choice of being away from the spotlight to protect himself from the pressure of life as a celebrity.
He had a good number of followers on his account where he mostly shared posts related to his surfer-bro lifestyle, sister Beanie Feldstein, and his girlfriend Sarah Brandy.
Many of his fans have supported his decision and are happy that is focusing on what’s best for him.
