Zuhair Murad was inspired to be a fashion designer by Balmain, Christian Dior, Schiaparelli & Balenciaga and is now one of the most recognized Fashion designers in the world.

He made his first appearance on the catwalks of Rome, in 1999.

In 1997, this amazing fashion designer opened his first atelier in Beirut. There he grew a lot of private customers. Four years later, he made his debut at Haute Couture Week in Paris. Soon his fame was popular with the global audience.

In 2005, Zuhair Murad launch his Ready-to-Wear Collection. A year later, Murad opens his first boutique in Melrose Building, listed as architectural heritage and located in Bab Idriss Street, Downtown Beirut.

He inaugurates his Parisian “Maison de Couture” with a Parisian showroom displaying the couture and bridal dresses and with a design studio and workshops.

In 2010, Zuhair relocates to a new, eleven-story building in the heart of Beirut. He kicks off his RTW bridal collection a year later.

The supervisory board of the “French Federation de la Haute Couture et de la Mode” elects him as a guest member of the Haute Couture official calendar. In 2013, Murad inaugurates its bridal boutique located in its building in the heart of Beirut.

Murad opens a store within a store in Kuwait, at the luxurious Harvey Nichols in 2016. To give a renewed impulse to the Ready-To-Wear and Accessory line, he establishes a company in Switzerland. ZUHAIR MURAD SUISSE SA will then be the main hub for Strategic and Commercial development but also as an RTW distribution platform worldwide.

His shop is opened in Istanbul at Vakko – Zorlu Center in 2017. In 2018, Murad opens its first boutique in the UAE, at the Fashion Avenue in the Dubai Mall.

Designs

Murad’s design is also seen on the red carpet, Met Gala, Golden Globes, and Oscars. He was the judge for the DDFC/Vogue Fashion Prize. His creation was worn by Taylor Swift, Ivana Trump, Jenifer Lopez, Vanessa Williams, Katy Perry, Shakira, Beyonce, and many more.

Cyrus wore his design at the Academy Awards and in 2011 his creations were worn by Jennifer Lopez and Christina Aguilera at the Golden Globe Awards. Moreover, Murad designed a dress for Chloe Mortaud when she became Miss France in Miss Universe 2009 and five extra dresses for the same event in 2010.

Florence Welch wore his label at the Brits award ceremony. Wanda Skyes, Aguilera, and Nina Dobrev also flaunted Zuhair Murad at the Emmy Awards, 2010, and the next year at this award event, Kerry Washington was spotted with a gown by Murad. Additionally, Cheryl Cole wore his outfit on the reality television series, The X Factor.

Even princesses have worn his designs, for example, Princess Amira Al-Taweel of Saudi Arabia wore his brand when she attended the royal wedding of Prince William.

Apart from these women, his designs have been worn by several other great women in their respective fields, such as Kristen Stewart wore apparel by Murad at the premiere of her well-known movie The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn in Los Angeles and in the Toronto Film Festival that took place in 2012.
